Vets Plus, Inc. is pleased to announce that Davey Stone has joined the company as National Account Director. In this role, Mr. Stone will be responsible for developing the business with animal pharma companies and veterinary channel customers. The latter includes practice groups, shelters, veterinary teaching schools, and government institutions. “We are thrilled to have an executive of Davey’s caliber join us as we work to significantly grow our business and achieve our strategic vision for the business. I have known Davey for well over 30 years, and his experience in developing markets within the animal health industry, his infectious charisma and passion, and the vast and deep relationships he has cultivated with animal pharma companies, practice groups, shelters, and vet schools will ensure growth to Vets Plus’s business and serve well our customers in the years to come”, said Paul Hays, CEO.
Davey Stone joined Vets Plus on March 27. Mr. Stone has over 40 years of experience in the animal health industry, recently retiring from Covetrus after over 25 years. His tenure there spanned the transitions from The Butler Company to Butler Animal Health Supply to Henry Schein Animal Health, where he held progressive executive roles including Director, Companion Animal Segment; Vice President, Marketing & Sales Services; and Vice President, Specialty Markets & Corporate Philanthropy. Prior to that, Mr. Stone headed Sales & Marketing of the Veterinary Division of Bergan Brunswig Medical and the predecessor business, Durr-Fillauer Medical, based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Earlier in his career, he worked for 10 years with McConnell Company as a Warehouse Associate and then Territory Manager. Davey’s first entry into animal health was working at his father’s animal hospital and dairy farm in Gadsden, Alabama. Mr. Stone studied at Gadsden State University and the University of Alabama in Birmingham and holds an Executive Distribution Management Certificate from The Ohio State University, Fisher School of Business.
