The Commercialization Manager is accountable for managing New Product Profile (NPP) projects and ensuring they are commercialized within agreed timelines. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a process to track project progress and leading communication on project matters relating to scope, timeline, issues, risks, and required decisions. The Commercialization Manager is also responsible for confirming that everyone on the project team complies with the company’s standards and procedures regarding the execution and development of each project.
A successful Commercialization Manager must exhibit excellent communication and leadership abilities under stress and be extremely well-organized. The Commercialization Manager will coordinate with other project team members from multiple departments to design and execute projects and will report plans and progress to top management. NPP projects include the custom development of animal supplement products for customers and/or the transfer of production of animal supplement products.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the New Product Profile (NPP) project governance and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Assist in the definition of each NPP project’s scope, objectives, and timeline, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility and resource allocation.
- Manage changes to each NPP project’s scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Drive NPP projects to a timely completion within the defined project parameters.
- Develop and maintain project plans, document progress, and lead communication on all project matters, clarifying scope, timelines, issues, risks, and decisions required.
- Provide visibility and gain alignment to project scope, objectives, and timelines across the organization.
- Meet with internal clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Hold cross-functional team members accountable for delivering tasks on time.
- Evaluate and make recommendations around critical project decisions.
- Escalate issues and risks to management as needed and drive to solutions.
- Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
- Gather feedback on improving the commercialization process; drive the development, documentation, and implementation of process improvements.
- Use and continually develop leadership and project management skills to maintain proficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in administration, business, engineering, or a similar field is required.
- Experience: a minimum of five years’ experience in project management.
- Experience: a minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or drug manufacturing.
