Internship Description:
Vets Plus, known as a full-service manufacturer of animal nutritional supplements and treats for livestock and companion animals, seeks a self-directed IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with senior IT leadership.
IT Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, application software, hardware, printers, and IT-related infrastructure.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades including servers, firewalls, switches, security systems, etc.
- Assist with running CAT6a Ethernet cables.
- Assist with Windows Server/Active Directory administration.
- Assist with network implementation on both small and enterprise scale.
- Assist with Microsoft Office 365 Administration.
- Assist with Microsoft Azure Administration.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune MDM.
- Assist with maintaining IT inventory.
- Assist with help desk calls, scheduling, and support tickets.
- Assist in the maintenance of IT standards and documentation.
- Assist with maintaining and administering IP telephony systems.
- Assist with testing of network-related concepts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Working toward a relevant degree in Information Technology.
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019/2022, IOS, Android.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Fundamentals of networking and networking design.
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware.
- Strong verbal and written communication/customer service skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in teams/independently.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Follow verbal instructions and written plans and technical instructions with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and evidence of insurance to commute to multiple sites.
