Associate Project Manager

The Associate Project Manager is accountable for assisting in the management of the New Product Profile (NPP) projects to help ensure they can be commercialized within agreed timelines.  NPP projects include the custom development of animal supplement products for customers and/or the transfer of production of animal supplement products. 

The Associate Project Manager role is responsible for assigned functions in the development process and performing tasks that contribute to our maintaining a process to track project progress and leading communication on project matters relating to scope, timeline, issues, risks, and required decisions.  The Associate Project Manager is also responsible for assisting with the confirmation that everyone on the project team complies with the company’s standards and procedures regarding the execution and development of each project. 

A successful Associate Project Manager must exhibit excellent communication abilities under stress and be highly organized. The Associate Project Manager will help to coordinate with other project team members, from multiple departments, in the design and execution of new projects and will report out progress updates to the Director of Project Pipeline Portfolio.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Participate in meetings as requested by the Director of Project Pipeline Portfolio that are designed to provide status updates and help to coordinate assigned deliverables.
  • Meet with internal project team members to gain clarity around specific questions as it relates to the project development phases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups, promoting the delivery of tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain project tracking system, working closely with the R&D and Operations teams, as well as other departments, to gather ongoing project status.
  • Identify and escalate issues and potential risks on active projects.
  • In your normal course of work, continually look for ways to improve the process and raise those to your director.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Core Competencies:

  • Manages time effectively, meets personal and corporate defined goals, and works effectively with other members of the Project Development Teams.
  • Promote and assist in driving NPP projects to a timely completion within the defined project parameters.
  • Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Proven ability to analyze data to discern actionable information that enables sound decision-making.
Computer and Software Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Project or similar software.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field required. Project Management concentration is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
